LAVO Mexico City is a new Italian‑American restaurant by Tao Group Hospitality, in partnership with local developer Dinar. Announced in August 2023 and opened in early 2024 at street level of Paseo Arcos Bosques—an upscale mixed‑use complex in Bosques de las Lomas—this marks LAVO’s seventh global location. The site was selected for its prime profile and foot traffic, and the venue replicates the chain’s signature energetic atmosphere alongside a coastal Italian menu.
Under the direction of Fernanda Patiño from Sordo Madaleno Arquitectos, the interiors integrate two large‑scale ceramic murals by María García Ibáñez as architectural focal points. The first, AQUELLOS ECOS, AQUELLOS INDICIOS, is a 170 × 40 cm high‑temperature glazed ceramic relief whose organic silhouette and natural engobe washes translate Ibáñez’s line drawings into volumetric form. The second, an untitled piece, applies the same artisanal technique at 100 × 78 cm. Both murals are strategically placed at hallway ends and entry points to welcome guests, their earthen tones and fluid shapes reinforcing the restaurant’s material palette of plaster walls, oak millwork, and woven textiles.
