María García Ibáñez

Drawing is the initial structure that shapes most of her research. It is an approach tool that allows her to establish a link with languages from other disciplines such as archeology, geology, or anatomy, and with artisanal processes such as ceramics or textiles.

Her most recent projects regarding the construction of landscape and the appropriation of the territory allow her to delve into the relationships between nomadism and home.

She has participated in different cultural projects and exhibited individually and collectively in cities such as Hong Kong, Seoul, Mexico City, Madrid, Valencia, Zurich, and Jakarta. She has also obtained scholarships and support for the production of her projects, including the Basu Residence Foundation (Calcutta, India, 2018) and the acquisition price of the DKV Collection (Drawing Room, Madrid, 2017).
