Casa Polanco is a five‑star boutique hotel that opened in December 2022 in Mexico City’s Polanco neighborhood. Led by architect Claudio Gantuz, the project restored a 1940s colonial mansion—preserving timber beams and masonry walls—and added a contemporary annex to create 19 unique guest suites. Interior designers Mónica Romo and Mónica Novelo curated rich walnut floors, custom-loomed artisan fabrics, and period antiques sourced from local bazaars.
Complementing its gallery-like presentation of photographs by Graciela Iturbide and sculptures by Ricardo Mazal, Veracruz artist Lucía Prudencio’s site‑specific mural wraps the main dining area and adjacent lobby passage in early 2023. Executed in black on white, the continuous graphic frieze abstracts native flora into a rhythmic pattern. The library and lounge feature furniture by Héctor Esrawe, and guest amenities include a rooftop spa, gym, and sunlit breakfast veranda. Together, these elements reinforce Casa Polanco’s synthesis of luxury hospitality and contemporary Mexican craftsmanship.
