After 10 years working shoulder to shoulder, in 2019 1050 Grados became a cooperative that integrates artisans from more than seven communities in Oaxaca, Puebla and Chiapas.
They are united by their love for clay and the desire to share its benefits with the world. They fight for a prosperous future for their families and communities with their craft, which is rooted in history. All this through the presentation of simple and elegant design pieces in collaboration, bringing the rural and indigenous world closer to urban modernity; the wisdom of tradition to the dynamism of innovation.
1050 Grados is part of Innovating the Tradition, a non-profit organization that works diligently to keep the pottery tradition alive.
They create social and participatory design in solidarity economy, supporting and sharing, because they seek cultural development, personal and community transformation through the knowledge of their trade.
