Residencial Project By Ángulo Cero – May 22, 2025

Founded in 1996, Gerardo García Studio has developed a consistent vision focused on residential and commercial architecture, characterized by a sensitive understanding of context, spatial precision, and the controlled use of natural materials. In 2024, the firm completed a project in a private residence located in Bosques de las Lomas, Mexico City. Three artworks by artists represented by Ángulo Cero were integrated into the space at various strategic points throughout the home.

On one of the main double-height walls, a composition of perforated ceramic pieces from the GÉNESIS series by Veracruz-based ceramicist Abel Zavala was installed. These handmade pieces, developed specifically for the project, stem from the artist’s homage to sporogenesis—that is, the formation of spores.

In the same space, the polyptych CARBONES by Andrea Bores was placed, made from powdered charcoal applied onto paper surfaces. The work followed a process in which the artist allows the material to behave organically, generating stains, lines, and structures that emerge from chance.

Finally, the mural mirror CIUDAD RADIADA, a unique piece by Luisa Restrepo, was incorporated. The work is based on a metal tray intervened through engraving, integrating patterns derived from various urban fabrics. Through this technique, Restrepo proposes a poetic reading of the built environment, transforming an everyday object into a reflective surface full of visual references.
