Montserrat Castañón is a curator and design strategist specializing in contemporary Mexican design, with a background in industrial design from Universidad Iberoamericana and a Master’s in Design Management from Pratt Institute. In 2014, she founded Ángulo Cero, Mexico’s first gallery dedicated to art and design, where her curatorial approach focuses on the intersection of material innovation, cultural heritage, and formal experimentation. Under her leadership, the gallery has become a vital platform for emerging Mexican artists and designers, fostering connections between local and international markets.
In addition to her work at Ángulo Cero, Montserrat is a professor at Tecnológico de Monterrey, shaping the next generation of designers. Her professional experience includes roles at Laboratorio Arte Alameda in Mexico City, ammann//gallery in Cologne, Cristina Grajales Gallery, and Fitz & Co in New York.
